Master's degree recipient Luna Ranjit bubbled with enthusiasm


• 535 men and 565 women in the class of 2004 received degrees at Commencement June 1. Of those, 934 received bachelor of arts degrees and 166 received bachelor of science in engineering degrees. Four students from earlier classes also received degrees.

• About 43.2 percent of the class members, or 475 students, received honors. Of those, 106 students graduated with highest honors, 162 with high honors and 207 with honors.

• The 686 advanced degrees awarded June 1 included both master's and doctoral degrees: 282 doctor of philosophy degrees; 248 master of arts degrees; 58 master in public affairs degrees; 24 master in architecture degrees; 20 master of engineering degrees; 18 master of science in engineering degrees; 15 master in public policy degrees; nine master in finance degrees; eight master in public affairs and urban and regional planning degrees; three master in Near Eastern studies degrees; and one master of fine arts degree.
