Changes made to staff tuition plan

Princeton NJ -- The Staff Educational Assistance Plan has been reviewed and the following changes will be made effective July 1, 2004, according to the Office of Human Resources:

• The maximum reimbursement amount has been increased from $3,000 to $5,250 per fiscal year.

• Benefits-eligible employees hired on or after July 1, 2004, will be eligible to participate in the plan on the first of the month coincident with or next following one year of service.

• Employees on Long Term Disability will no longer be eligible to participate under the program.

The Staff Educational Assistance Plan is available to assist employees with the cost of their own undergraduate and graduate education. The plan provides reimbursement for 85 percent of tuition and mandatory educational fees at accredited institutions located in the United States up to a maximum of $5,250 per plan year (July 1 through June 30) for up to two courses per term, six courses per plan year.

The Staff Educational Assistance Plan involves a two-step process. A Course Approval Form must be completed within 31 days of the start of the semester and a Reimbursement Request Form must be completed within 90 days of the completion of the semester. For more detailed information or to request a Staff Educational Assistance form, contact the Human Resources Solution Center at 258-3300 or <hr@princeton.edu>. Soon these forms will be available on the human resources Web site.
