The 110 incoming freshmen who participated in the University's Community Action program volunteered their time with a range of social service agencies, from food distribution programs to home renovation projects.

Some 35 upperclass students served as group leaders at the sites in Philadelphia, Trenton and Princeton.

A total of 641 freshmen went hiking, canoeing and climbing at locations ranging from the Berkshires in Massachusetts to the Appalachian Trail in Maryland during the Outdoor Action program's 30th annual frosh trip.
