Changes announced in registrar’s office
Greenberg Marsh
Several administrative changes in the Office of the Registrar have been implemented.
Joseph Greenberg has been promoted to the new position of University registrar. He will be focusing on large strategic issues and policy matters facing the office and the institution in the years ahead.
Greenberg joined the registrar’s office in 1978 as assistant registrar after a year as a lecturer in the Department of English, where he earned his Ph.D. in 1977. He was promoted to deputy registrar in 1993 and became acting registrar in 1999. Since 2000, he has served as registrar.
The interim day-to-day management of the registrar’s office will be the responsibility of Jed Marsh, vice provost for institutional research. He will work closely with a newly-constituted core management team that includes: Robert Bromfield, deputy registrar for academic affairs; Kim Hoeritz, deputy registrar for student services and operations; and Jennifer Bronson, senior associate registrar.
The oversight responsibility for the registrar’s office also has been transferred, from the Office of the Provost to the Office of the Dean of the College.
The registrar’s office, located in West College, maintains the academic records of undergraduate and graduate students. It also collects enrollment data, oversees online course registration and makes classroom assignments, among other activities.
