Spotlight
Name: Nick Konawalik.
Position: Director of athletic marketing. Planning and implementing marketing strategies for Princeton’s 38 varsity sports teams, working with students, faculty and staff, alumni, corporate partners and community members.
Quote: “The university environment and the atmosphere it creates are among the many things that separate Princeton from other academic institutions. There is a special allure of being a part of a top academic institution with an athletic organization that is widely recognized both nationally and internationally.”
Other interests: Spending time with wife, Lori, and sons, Aiden and Evan. Outdoor activities and sports, including soccer and jogging. Teaching a class in sports finance at East Stroudsburg University.
Staff retirements
Effective April 1: in annual giving, senior adviser Robert Van Vranken, after 39 years.
Effective May 1: in the plasma physics lab, principal research physicist Hideo Okuda, after 35 years.

Faculty resign
The following faculty members have submitted their resignations:
Effective Feb. 1, 2006: Leonardo Rastelli, assistant professor of physics, to accept a position at Stony Brook University.
Effective Feb. 7, 2006: Jeffrey Carbeck, assistant professor of chemical engineering.
Effective July 1, 2006: Kofi Agawu, professor of music, to accept a position at Harvard University; Nicholas Pippenger, professor of computer science, to accept a position at Harvey Mudd College.
