Online Faculty Face Book available

Princeton NJ -- Having difficulty connecting a new name and face from that last faculty gathering? Help is now available from the Office of the Dean of the Faculty.

The office, with the assistance of the Office of Information Technology, has developed an online Faculty Face Book at <Web site>. Users can display pictures of the University's current academic officers and faculty members, plus directly link to their contact information in the online campus directory.

The face book is located on a secured Web site, and access is restricted to current faculty, staff and students who can log in using their Princeton net IDs and passwords.

The Web site was put together in response to numerous requests by faculty, staff and students to bring back the old Faculty Face Books that were last published in the mid-1970s. The original printed versions of the face books included photographs of most of the faculty in the ranks of professor, associate professor, assistant professor, lecturer and instructor, as well as the academic officers, and simply listed name, rank and department alphabetically.

The modernized face book incorporates all faculty ranks, including visiting faculty, as well as full current titles as they appear in the University Register. In addition, the online resource offers a variety of search and sort options.

The face book is located on a secured Web site, and access is restricted to current faculty, staff and students who can log in using their Princeton net IDs and passwords. Those with questions about logging on to the site should contact the OIT Help Desk at <helpdesk@princeton.edu> or 258-4357.

Those with general comments or questions about the new Faculty Face Book should contact Kris Miller in the Office of the Dean of the Faculty at <q1973@princeton.edu>.
