University Store sponsors events this fall with noted authors

 

Princeton NJ -- The University Store is sponsoring a number of events this fall featuring authors with Princeton connections or others of interest to the University community.

The authors usually present a short talk at the store, answer questions from the audience and sign copies of their book.

Here is the schedule so far:

• 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, Molly Moynahan, author of "Stone Garden"; she will be introduced by her father, Julian Moynahan, author, critic and former Princeton faculty member.

• 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, Edward Tenner, former visiting scholar at Princeton, current senior research associate of the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation at National Museum of American History in New York and author of "Our Own Devices: The Past and Future of Body Technology."

• 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, Adrienne Mayor, folklorist and author of "Greek Fire, Poison Arrows and Scorpion Bombs: Biological and Chemical Warfare in the Ancient World."

• 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, Edward Champlin, the Cotsen Professor of Humanities at Princeton and author of "Nero."

• 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, John Wilmerding, the Christopher Sarofim '86 Professor of American Art at Princeton and author of "Signs of the Artist: Signatures and Self-Expression in American Paintings."

• 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, Edmund White, director of the Princeton Program in Creative Writing and author of "Fanny: A Fiction."
