Name: Jennifer Lang.

Position: Electronic resources cataloger at Firestone Library. Cataloging electronic resources, such as Web sites and other resources available via the Internet, databases and other materials on CD-ROM, as well as datasets resulting from public polls and surveys, so that library users can find them by searching the library catalog.

Quote: “Firestone Library is incredible. I never cease to be amazed by the resources we have. Even after a year here I’m still discovering new things when I get lost in the library’s nooks and crannies.”

Other interests: Playing the cello in concerts in the tri-state area. Teaching cataloging as an adjunct professor in the library school at Rutgers University. Making beaded jewelry.

Appointments

Board approves four promotions

The Board of Trustees has approved the promotions of four faculty members.

The faculty members and their departments, by the academic rank to which they are being promoted, are:

Associate professorSaeed Tavazoie, molecular biology and Lewis-Sigler Institute of Integrative Genomics, with continuing tenure, effective July 1, 2005.

Assistant professorDesmond Hogan, philosophy; Jason Lyall, politics and international affairs; and Kristopher Ramsay, politics. All are for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2005.
