Students in action

Princeton NJ -- Nearly 670 freshmen spent the week before classes began participating in the Community Action and Outdoor Action programs, which enable Princeton's newest students to bond through community service projects and rigorous outdoor activities.

Below left, sophomore and group leader Shelly Slemp and freshman Odie Ayaga repaired a drainage ditch in the Bellevue Garden in Trenton as part of a project with Isles, a Trenton-based community development organization.

At right, freshmen from an Outdoor Action group stopped at the border of Massachusetts and Connecticut while hiking along the Appalachian Trail. Pictured are: (front row, from left) Nate Morrison, Julie Vikse and Dan Pall; (back row, from left) Sara Prescott, Drew Woodbury and Ryan Kim.
