Former dean directs Frist Campus Center
Paul Breitman, formerly associate dean
for student centers and student activities at Rutgers
College, became director of Frist Campus Center starting
January 5.
Currently under construction, Frist Campus Center is due
to open in fall 2000. It will provide the campus with
centralized services and new dining, social and performance
spaces and programs. Breitman will direct programming and
oversee the functioning of the facility; coordinate food
services, maintenance and program requirements; and work
with graduate and undergraduate student government and with
faculty and staff to design extracurricular programming.
"I look forward to being an active, contributing member
of the Princeton campus community," he said. "The new Frist
Campus Center will give our diverse students, faculty and
staff a common ground on which to build a cohesive community
of learning."
At Rutgers Breitman has been responsible for the
operations and financial management of three student center
facilities--Rutgers Student Center, Busch Campus Center and
the Student Activities Center--as well as for the
development, implementation and evaluation of their services
and programs. He has also managed a university-wide student
activities program emphasizing student involvement and
leadership development.
Breitman holds a 1970 BS degree in business
administration and an MA in education from East Carolina
University, where he was associate director and business
manager of the Mendenhall Student Center from 1974 until he
went to Rutgers as associate dean of students and director
of student centers in 1981.
