Christopher Eisgruber named Princeton's next provost
2/23/04 -- Christopher L. Eisgruber, the Laurance S. Rockefeller
Professor of Public Affairs in the Woodrow Wilson School and the
University Center for Human Values and the director of Princeton's
Program in Law and Public Affairs, has been named the University's
next provost, effective July 1.

gives highest awards to top undergraduate, graduate students
2/21/04 -- Princeton University recognized the winners of the highest
honors it awards to students at Alumni Day ceremonies Saturday,
Feb. 21. Seniors Katherine Linder and Steven Porter received the
University's Moses Taylor Pyne Honor Prize, and graduate students
Eric Brown, Min Hu, William Ristenpart and Jennifer Waldron were
honored as co-winners of the Porter Ogden Jacobus Fellowship.

Professor of Architecture Henry Jandl Dies
1/27/04 -- Henry Jandl, an emeritus professor of architecture who
served on the Princeton faculty for 35 years, died Jan. 3 in Richmond,
Va. He was 93.
Vitale
receives Sachs scholarship for study at Oxford
1/15/04 -- Princeton senior Vincent Vitale has been named the recipient
of the 2004 Daniel Sachs Class of 1960 Graduating Scholarship. The
award, one of the highest honors given to Princeton undergraduates,
will fund Vitale's tuition and living expenses for the next two
years as he pursues an M.Phil. in philosophical theology at Oxford
University in England.

name three faculty members to endowed chairs
1/14/04 -- The trustees of Princeton University approved the creation
of several new professorships at their Nov. 15 meeting and named
three faculty members to endowed chairs.
Conference
explores Kennan's lasting influence on U.S. foreign policy
1/13/04 -- The nation's leading political and international affairs
scholars will join current and former diplomats on Friday, Feb.
20, at Princeton University to discuss the legacy of the pre-eminent
diplomat George F. Kennan and his lasting impact on U.S. foreign
policy from the Cold War to the Iraq conflict. U.S. Secretary of
State Colin L. Powell is scheduled to deliver opening remarks for
the conference.

Princeton students named George Mitchell Scholars
1/11/04 -- Two seniors majoring in the Woodrow Wilson School of
Public and International Affairs, Robert Mulcare and Cynthia Romero,
have been awarded 2004-05 George J. Mitchell Scholarships for a
year of postgraduate study at universities in Ireland and Northern
Ireland.

Day celebration set for Jan. 19

Luther King Jr. with its annual King Day celebration at 1:30 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 19, in Richardson Auditorium of Alexander Hall.

offers early admission to 581 students for the class of 2008
1/6/04 -- Princeton University offered admission to 581 students
from a pool of 1,815 high school seniors who applied through early

announced.
