[c] Celeste Nelson, an assistant professor of chemical engineering, was awarded first place in this year’s “Art of Science” competition for this image, titled “baby squid.” The contest solicited images made in the course of research, focusing on the theme of “found art.” Nelson’s image of squid embryos is part of her laboratory’s studies of the dynamic processes that control tissue development. Selected entries are on display in the Friend Center atrium, and an online gallery is available at www.princeton.edu/~artofscience/2009.
