The Butler College reconstruction project, which involves building five new dormitories to replace five that were razed, is about 80 percent complete. Scheduled to open this fall, the new Butler College will have two large courtyards, including this amphitheater courtyard.

The Butler College Memorial Court opens to the south toward Scully Hall, with a pedestrian bridge forming a southern boundary. A ground-level lounge will open directly into the courtyard, which memorializes a group of classes that have generously supported residential life. The landscaping will be irrigated by a cistern that collects stormwater runoff.
