Name: David B. Campbell.

Position: Clinical psychologist in University Health Services. Conducting individual, couple and group psychotherapy with undergraduate and graduate students and their dependents. Leading support groups for graduate students; lesbian, gay, bisexual and questioning students; and students of color. Coordinating other group therapy program.

Quote: “The students I work with are very talented, and they’re able to use treatment to get better and do better — that’s profoundly meaningful for me. I love being available in that process.”

Other interests: Serving as secretary of the executive board of the Princetonians of Color Network and as a fellow at Butler College. Spending time with his wife, Amanda Rose, and their children, 9-year-old Alexandra and 5-year-old Joshua.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers has selected Pablo Debenedetti to receive the 2008 William H. Walker Award for Excellence in Contributions to Chemical Engineering Literature.

Debenedetti, the Class of 1950 Professor of Chemical Engineering and vice dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, will receive the award in November at the institute’s annual meeting in Philadelphia. The award honors Debenedetti’s “outstanding contributions on the theory of hydrophobicity, the thermodynamics of supercooled and glassy water, the properties of water in nanoscale confinement and the theory of glasses and supercooled liquids.”

Debenedetti is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He won multiple Excellence in Teaching awards from the student Engineering Councils. In June, he won the highest teaching awards for the University and for the engineering school.

Effective Oct. 1: in the library, special collections assistant Christine Kitto, after 10 years; in the carpenter shop, carpenter Robert Pazdan, after 32 years; in the alarms shop, shop foreman Edward Quick, after 37 years; in the plasma physics lab, lead engineer Joseph Rushinski, after 39 years; in the plasma physics lab, radiochemist/technician Carl Szathmary, after 31 years.
