Service Recognition

Three hundred and thirty staff members were honored at the annual Service Recognition Luncheon in Rockefeller-Mathey Dining Hall on January 28, with Robert Durkee, vice president for public affairs, as master of ceremonies.

New this year was the presentation of the President's Achievement Award to four employees, honoring them for "unwavering commitment to excellence" and "exceptional and sustained service" to the University. The award winners were 35-year employee Alfred Bates, manager of Special Facilities in Grounds and Building Maintenance; 25-year veteran Kenneth Grayson, foreman of the Electrical Shop in Grounds and Building Maintenance; 21-year vet Jennifer Guberman, undergraduate secretary in Romance Languages and Literatures, and 37-year employee Robert P. Matthews, senior photographer in Communications.

The luncheon honors members of the staff who have reached 10-year and subsequent five-year milestones in their careers at Princeton. This year there were four staff members who have worked for the University for 40 years: Maria Borcsik of the research staff in Geosciences; Jeannette Dudash in Purchasing; Barclay Gibbs, senior technical staff member in Physics; and Geraldine Hancock, business manager of the Population Index in the Office of Population Research.
