There is a small hill in a remote part of Turkey that looms large in the mind of John Haldon, a professor of history at Princeton. It likely is the ruin of an ancient fortress, but for Haldon the site is an inspiration to find new ways to unearth the history of a particular landscape.

A look at chemistry building’s future
As work on the new chemistry building south of Jadwin Hall proceeds, a mock-up representing proposed facades for the building has been erected for reference at the construction site. The 17-foot-high structure is composed of granite panels, which will be used primarily on the north and south facades; aluminum framing carrying high-performance glazing; and cast aluminum sunscreens that will shade the windows.
