Princeton alumni living in Asia
Princeton NJ — During her March 10-16 visit to Asia (see story in this issue), President Tilghman met with senior government officials, education leaders and students in addition to visiting with Princeton alumni, parents of current students and other friends of the University. Princeton alumni are represented throughout Asia, where some countries have hundreds of alumni, and others have just a handful.
• Asia has a total of 1,691 undergraduate and graduate alumni.
• Tilghman visited areas that have larger populations of alumni. Her first stop was Singapore, which has 135 alumni; next was Shanghai, the largest city in China, a country with 147 alumni; and finally she went to Hong Kong, which has 214 alumni.
• Other countries in Asia where larger numbers of alumni live include Japan (383), India (158), Korea (110) and Taiwan (104).
• There are eight alumni living in Sri Lanka, seven in Katmandu and one in Mongolia.
