Celebration set for Oct. 6

Staff members at Princeton and residents of the local community are invited to a celebration of arts, entertainment, sports and community service Saturday, Oct. 6, at Princeton Stadium.

Community/Staff Day will feature a variety of activities appealing to those of all ages and interests. They include:

• A track meet at 11 a.m. on Weaver Track, featuring competitions for different age groups. Participants will get a free T-shirt. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.

• A Community Art Exhibit at 11:30 a.m. Paintings, photos, sculptures and crafts created by members of the University and local com-munities will be on display in the stadium concourse under a tent. The first 25 visitors to the tent will receive a free disposable camera.

• A Community Service Fair at 11:30 a.m. Charitable non-profit organizations will be distributing information about their missions, services and volunteer opportunities. In addition, the University's information table will serve as a site where people may make disaster relief contributions; the money will be distributed to organizations helping the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

• Entertainment at 11:30 a.m., featuring a balloon sculptor, face painters, a stilt walker, strolling musicians and clowns.

• The Princeton vs. Colgate football game at 1 p.m.

Those attending will get access to all of the activities by purchasing a $6 ticket to the football game. Tickets may be obtained in advance at the ticket office in Jadwin Gym (258-3538) or beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the stadium's main entrance ticket booth.
