Princeton, N.J. -- President Clinton is scheduled to award the National Medal of Science to this year's 12 laureates, including Princeton astrophysicist Jeremiah P. Ostriker, at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Dec. 1.

The ceremony will take place in the National Museum Building at 7:30 p.m. Earlier that day, the National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology laureates will participate in a roundtable discussion on the future of science and technology education. The discussion will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Horizon Ballroom of the Ronald Reagan building.

The University expects to have a photo of Ostriker and the President available to media Friday afternoon. A webcast of the evening ceremony will be available at the Office of Science and Technology web page, located at www.ostp.gov and from the National Science and Technology Medals Foundation, located at www.asee.org/nstmf/.
