ACLU President to Discuss Changes in Civil Liberties 

WHO: Nadine Strossen, New York Law School professor and president of the American Civil Liberties Union

WHAT: Lecture on "Current Changes in Civil Liberties." Free and open to the public.

WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

WHERE: Bowl 1 of Robertson Hall on the Princeton campus.

 

Nadine Strossen was elected president of the ACLU in 1991, becoming the first woman to head the nation's largest and oldest civil liberties organization. Throughout her presidency she has maintained her position on the faculty of New York Law School.

The National Law Journal has twice named Strossen one of the most influential lawyers in America, and in 1998, Vanity Fair included Strossen in its list of "America's 200 Most Influential Women."

Strossen has more than 200 published works to her credit. Her book, Defending Pornography: Free Speech, Sex, and the Fight for Women's Rights, was deemed one of the notable books of 1995 by the New York Times.
