David Adamany became chief executive officer of Detroit’s public schools in May, 1999. He has written extensively on American politics, campaign finance, constitutional law and the judiciary. He holds undergraduate and law degrees from Harvard University and master's and doctoral degrees in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From 1982 to 1997, Adamany served as president and professor of law and political science at Wayne State University.

Adamany is a member of the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity of the U.S. Department of Education and other civic and corporate organizations.

His lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
