Community House Seeks Nominations for Legacy of Service Award

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Community House, a community service organization committed to helping people in need in the Princeton Borough and Township communities is seeking nominations for its Legacy of Service Award.

Community House presents the Legacy of Service Award to an individual or organization whose community service efforts exemplify ongoing commitment, dedication and service to the Princeton Borough and Township communities. The nominations are received from community members who have worked with the individual or organization, and are aware of the work they do in the community. The Legacy Of Service celebration occurs every two years at a dinner banquet at the Third World Center. The first Legacy of Service awards were presented in 1996.

Community House established the Legacy service recognition program to honor people in the Princeton community who have contributed to making Princeton a better place for all of its residents. Recipients in past years have included, Community House founders and former community members who, as youngsters, participated in Community House projects and are now contributing to Princeton in their own way. Princeton University administrators, faculty and staff, without whose support Community House concepts might have been lost in other student organizations, have also been honored. Other honorees have been residents of the community who have worked to foster understanding of people across cultural/racial/sociological/educational lines, and contribute to the sense of safety, tolerance, and neighborhood. With this in mind, we invite your nominations of people or organizations for the 2000 award.

The following criteria should be used when making the nomination(s):
• Person nominated should reside in Princeton and/or nearby vicinity
• Currently be making an outstanding volunteer community service contribution
• Not enrolled as a Princeton University student

We thank you in advance for your input, and look forward to receiving your nomination(s) by Friday February 11, 2000. We hope many of you will join us on Friday March 3, 2000 when we will celebrate all the recipients!
