James Sturm, director of the Princeton Center for Photonic and Optoelectronic 
Materials (POEM) and a professor of electrical engineering, will direct a new 
institute to be named Princeton Institute for the Science and Technology of 
Materials (PRISM). PRISM will subsume both POEM and the Princeton Materials 
Institute (PMI).
