Nancy Newman, president of the Alumni Association and a member of the Class of 1978, accessorized her academic robe with an orange-and-black boa during her remarks on behalf of the 88,000 living undergraduate and graduate alumni. Newman told Eisgruber, a member of the Class of 1983, "like any family, we are proud of you."
