Note: Registration is required for a track meet and art exhibit associated with this event.

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton University invites everyone to a grand community block party -- Community Day at the Princeton Stadium, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 25, preceding the Princeton/Lehigh night football game.

Community Day festivities begin at 3 p.m. with a track meet featuring a 400-meter run for participants over 12 years old and a 100-meter dash for youngsters 12 and under, separated into groups based on gender and age. All entrants receive T-shirts, and winners will be awarded prizes. Registration is mandatory for this event, which takes place on the Weaver Track and Field on the south side of the stadium. Walk-in registrants are accepted, but pre-registered participants are guaranteed T-shirts. Please call 609-258-5144.

At 4 p.m. the party moves inside the Princeton Stadium -- admission being a $5 football ticket. The concourse is the site of a Community Art Exhibit, Community Service Fair, jugglers, balloon sculptors, face painters, musicians, caricaturist, life-size cutouts with free Polaroid pictures and door prizes.

The Community Art Exhibit showcases paintings, photographs, sculptures and crafts from accomplished local artists. The art show -- limited to 100 entrants -- has a September 15th registration deadline. Please call 609-258-5144.

The Community Service Fair gives area charitable non-profit organizations the opportunity to spread the word about their missions and their volunteer needs.

The day will be topped off by the night -- a nighttime football game, under the lights of the heavens and the stadium, a first in Princeton's football history.
