Astronaut to Speak as Engineering School Celebrates 50 Years of Guggenheim Support of Aeronautics and Space Research

Princeton, N.J.–Astronaut Greg Linteris will be one of the featured speakers at "Guggenheim’s Vision of Aeronautics: 50 Years of Guggenheim Support" on Friday, May 28. The program, sponsored by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, will highlight the impact Guggenheim Fellowships have had on Princeton University and the engineering field.

The program will take place in Bowen Hall Auditorium at the Princeton Materials Institute. Refreshments will be served at 3 p.m. The talks are open to the public.

Linteris, who earned his 1979 BSE and 1990 PhD at Princeton, will discuss his space shuttle missions where he was responsible for igniting on-board fires during combustion research. His talk, "Fire in Space," will take place from 4 to 4:30 pm. Other featured speakers include:
