Princeton Lecture Offers an Insider's View of the ``U.S. Policy on Terrorism''

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The National Security Council's senior director for counter-terrorism, Steven Simon, will speak on the ``U.S. Policy on Terrorism'' at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs on Thursday, February 11, at 4:30 p.m. in Robertson Hall, Bowl 1.

Simon, who earned his master's degree in public affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School in 1983, has been a member of the National Security Council staff since 1994. His responsibilities have included Persian Gulf contingency planning and oversight of the foreign affairs budget process. He was assigned to the White House by the State Department, where he had been acting deputy assistant secretary for regional security affairs. Before joining the State Department in 1985, he held positions in New York City government, where he was acting coordinator for Legislative Affairs at the Human Resources Administration, and in Washington, D.C., at the Office of Management and Budget, where he worked on national security programs.

His lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
