Princeton, N.J. -- Prakash Shah, India's permanent representative to the United Nations, will speak on "India: Leader or Loner in the Post-Cold War World?" at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs on Wednesday, March 5, at 8:00 p.m. in Robertson Hall, Bowl 1.

Ambassador Shah has been a diplomat for 34 years. He has served as India's ambassador to Japan and to Venezuela, as ambassador to the U.N. in Geneva, and as a secretary in India's Ministry of External Affairs. Shah has extensive experience in political, economic, and petroleum-related issues, and he has been involved in negotiations involving disarmament, international trade, and human rights. He has been a member of many delegations to international conferences, including those at the U.N. General Assembly, NAM Ministerial meetings, and the World Summit Conference.

His lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the United Nations Association.
