Letty Cottin Pogrebin to Give Lecture During Jewish Heritage Week

Princeton, N.J. -- Letty Cottin Pogrebin, an Emmy-award winning lecturer and author, will give the second annual William G. Bowen Lecture celebrating Jewish Heritage Week on Sunday, April 21. Her lecture, titled "Judaism, Feminism and Freedom," will begin at 8 p.m. in McCosh 50 on the Princeton University campus.

Cottin Pogrebin, a founder and editor of Ms. magazine, is the author of Deborah, Golda and Me: Being Jewish and Female in America, among other books. She is affiliated with Moment, Tikkun and Family Circle magazines and has been widely published in the popular press as well as textbooks and anthologies.

She won an Emmy for Free to be ... You and Me and is a recipient of the B'nai B'rith Woman of Achievement Award. She and her husband, Bernard B. Pogrebin, have three adult children.

The lecture is sponsored by The Center for Jewish Life, located at 70 Washington Road at Ivy Lane. The center serves as a meeting place for intellectual and cultural exchanges, houses a kosher kitchen and hosts events for more than 20 campus Jewish groups.

The annual lecture series is funded by a grant from the Botwinick-
Wolfensohn Foundation in honor of William G. Bowen, past president of Princeton University, and his contributions to The Center for Jewish Life.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
