Women's Conference in Beijing
to be Discussed at Princeton

Princeton, N.J.--Gracia Hillman, senior coordinator for
international women's issues in the Department of State, will
speak on ``Human Rights Are Women's Rights, and Women's Rights Are
Human Rights: The Fourth World Conference on Women'' at Princeton
University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International
Affairs on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 4:30 p.m. in Bowl 1, Robertson
Hall.

Hillman, a member of the U.S. delegation to the Fourth World
Women's Conference in Beijing, has been with the Department of
State since 1994. Her responsibilities include developing
strategies to ensure that women's rights issues are included as
part of the human rights and general foreign policies of the
United States. She is also the department's principal link with
nongovernmental and private voluntary organizations throughout the
United States on issues concerning international women's rights
and women in development.

She has previously served as executive director of the League of
Women Voters, executive consultant for the Council on Foundations,
executive director for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation,
and executive director for the National Coalition on Black Voter
Participation.

Her talk is being sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School.
