President of Sun Company to
Discuss Next 1,725 Days For
Environmental Agenda

Princeton, N.J.--Robert H. Campbell, chairman, CEO and president
of Sun Company Inc., will speak at Princeton University on
Tuesday, April 11, at 4:30 p.m. in the Woodrow Wilson School's
Dodds Auditorium. His talk, entitled "The Next 1,725 Days: An
Environmental Agenda to the Year 2000," will address thoughts on
the future of environmental responsibility among businesses. The
lecture is one in a series endowed by Princeton alumnus G.S.
Beckwith Gilbert, Class of 1963. It is being hosted by the
Princeton Environmental Institute.

Campbell has spent his entire career at Sun, starting in 1960 as a
research engineer and holding positions of increasing importance.
He has served as president and chief executive officer of the
company since 1991 and in 1992 was named chairman as well. A
member of the Class of 1959, he graduated from Princeton with a
bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. In 1961 he earned a
master's in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University,
and in 1977, he took a master's degree in business management from
MIT's prestigious Sloan Fellows Program.

In addition to his professional duties at Sun, Campbell has served
as a member of the U.S. Department of Energy's alternative Fuels
Council and the EPA's Clean Air Act Advisory Council. He is also
active in numerous professional and civic organizations and is a
member of the boards of CoreStates Financial Corp., American
Petroleum Institute, Elwyn Institute, Hospital of the University
of Pennsylvania, and CIGNA Corp.

Sun Company is principally a petroleum refiner and marketer with
interests in oil and gas exploration and production and oil sands
mining. The company's principal executive offices are located in
Philadelphia. The G.S. Beckwith Gilbert '63 Lecture/Seminar Fund
was established in 1988 to bring innovative leaders in business,
government and the professions to campus.
