Princeton hosts Symposium on New Jersey Issues
WHO: New Jersey public officials, scholars and business leaders (list below)WHAT: "New Jersey's Landscape in 2050," a symposium on the State's future
WHEN: Friday, April 14, 9 a.m. - noon
WHERE: Dodds Auditorium in Robertson Hall, at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs
WHY: To imagine New Jersey in 50 years and offer visions for what it could be
Participants at this symposium represent many sectors of New Jersey life, including politics, the arts and biotechnology.The program will be moderated by Princeton University Professor of Public Affairs Michael Danielson and will feature brief presentations by:
Nick Acocella, editor and publisher of Politifax
Carol Cronheim, deputy chief in the state Office of Policy and Planning
Dr. Thomas Espenshade, professor of sociology at Princeton University
Dr. Vera King Farris, president of Richard Stockton College
Dr. Stephen Forrest, professor of electrical engineering at Princeton University
Barbara Lawrence, executive director of New Jersey Future
Roland Machold, N.J. State Treasurer
Dr. David Popenoe, professor of sociology and co-director of the National Marriage Project, Rutgers University
Dr. Joseph Villafranca, vice president macromolecular structure and biopharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb
John Weingart, associate director of the Eagleton Institute at Rutgers University and radio show host
State legislators will take part in a panel discussion after the presentations. Participants include:
