"A Beautiful Mind," which was filmed in part on the University's campus and is loosely based on the life of John Nash, starts Tuesday, Dec. 25 at the Princeton Garden Theatre. The film will be given a limited release in other cities around the country on Friday, Dec. 21, and goes into wide release on Friday, Jan. 4.

For Nash, Nobel laureate and senior research mathematician in Princeton University's Department of Mathematics, the film's ambiguous relation to the facts of his life is both comforting and disconcerting. "It's not me," Nash said after he and his wife Alicia recently attended a preview of the film in New York with director Ron Howard. "But on the other hand, it has a lot of things that do relate to my life history."

In the Princeton Weekly Bulletin, Nash discussed the film's similarities and departures from his life story and told how the Nobel prize marked a new beginning for his career. Click here for the full story.

Also in the Weekly Bulletin, University staffers Christine Hollendonner and Richard Smith described the excitement and tedium of being an extra on the set of the film. Click here for the full story.
